Lady Gaga cancels Target album deal over political donations

When Lady Gaga isn't threatening to sue ice-cream makers over alleged defamation, she's abandoning Target because of their donations to political action comittees that support anti-LGBT agendas. Actually, The Juice* can't fault her for that one.

"She and Target didn't see eye to eye on Target's policy of political donations and how they affect the LGBT community," a source tells The Advocate. The discount-store chain had an exclusive deal in the works for an exclusive edition of her new album, Born This Way, but the deal fell apart. "Lady Gaga and Target came to a mutual decision to end their overall exclusive partnership a few weeks ago," her publicist confirmed.

Target raised eyebrows last year when it donated $150,000 to MN Forward, a PAC the supported Tom Emmer's failed campaign for governor. The Republican candidate, a former member of the state's House of Representatives, supported a state contitutional amendment banning gay marriage and opposed any bill that would have established laws against bullying gay and lesbian youths. He lost to Democratic opponent Mark Dayton by about 9,000 votes.

While the exclusive deal is done, The Advocate doesn't say anything about the regular version of the album being pulled. You know, Best Buy gave MN Forward $100,000, but you'll probably find her album in those stores, too.
