Lady Gaga gains 25 pounds, told to lose it for tour
The last time Lady Gaga swung through these parts, the skinny was that she was all skin and bones and collapsing from exhaustion backstage after shows. Now she's saying she's too fat and has been told to lose weight. Well which is it, girlfriend?
Gaga told radio host Elvis Duran about the extra pounds during a call-in before she began her new tour, which will come to Tampa on March 13: "I'm dieting right now, because I gained, like, 25 pounds," she said, according to the Huffington Post. "And you know I really don't feel bad about it, not even for a second. I have to be on such a strict diet constantly. It's hard because it’s a quite vigorous show, so I tend to bulk up, get muscular, and I really don't like that. So I'm trying to find a new balance."
That new balance, according to RadarOnline, is being ordered to stop eating pizza and pasta by her record label, and being forced to order all new outfits for her shows. Gaga's reasoning, she says, is that she's "a New York Italian girl," and her father Joe Germanotta's new restaurant in Manhattan is a no-no now, since she packs on the pounds everytime she visits it. She's sure been hiding it well, given all the voluminous, drapey outfits she's had offstage.
Boy, we can't wait until the end of her tour, when she's worked all that extra weight off and people are accusing her of being anorexic again. It's great when people who never exercise give opinions on body image.
