Lady Gaga has dinner with WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange
Lady Gaga took an unexpected dinner date Sunday night, dining with WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange at the Ecudorian embassy in London. Maybe he wanted to try some of her new perfume.
It was that trip to Harrods department store to shill the scent, Fame, that brought Gaga to London. She may have been acting on the invitation from singer M.I.A., who tweeted Sunday, "@ladygaga if ur at harrods today , come visit Assange at the Ecuador embassy across the st. im there. ill bring TEA and CAKE." The U.K.'s Telegraph says a spokeswoman at the embassy confirmed Gaga's five-hour visit, which was noticed after she posted this photo on LittleMonsters.com, but no one seems to know if M.I.A. made an appearance.
We like to think Assange was asking her for $150,000, the amount several his supporters have to pay for sureties after the Australian skipped bail to seek asylum in the Ecuadorian embassy. Either that, or Gaga was hiding from all the angry fans disappointed in her rushed Harrods appearance.
