Lady Gaga talks about cocaine use, inability to trust men
As if we didn't already know the brilliantly marketed Lady Gaga was a bad influence on the globe's children, she shows up naked in Vanity Fair saying all kinds of things that will keep parents up at night, including saying she's terrible at relationships and does cocaine. Good thing she's got a new remix album out!
"I won't lie; it's occasional," she says about her drug use. "And when I say occasional, I mean maybe a couple of times a year." Not that she condones that lifestyle, oh no: "I do not want my fans to ever emulate that or be that way. I don't want my fans to think they have to be that way to be great. It's in the past. It was a low point, and it led to disaster." So which is it, bad to do, or okay to do once in awhile?
She does reveal that doing drugs led to her mother coming to take her away for a spell, depositing her at her grandmother's house in West Virginia. That ended up driving her to succeed.
"I told her I thought my life was over and I have no hope and I've worked so hard, and I knew I was good," Gaga said. "What would I do now? And she said, 'I'm gonna let you cry for a few more hours. And then after those few hours are up, you're gonna stop crying, you're gonna pick yourself up, you're gonna go back to New York, and you're gonna kick some ass.'"
As for her inability to deal with relationships, well, there's a good reason for that, she says: "I have this weird thing that if I sleep with someone they’re going to take my creativity from me through my vagina." The Juice* really doesn't have an answer for that one.
"I’m perpetually lonely. I’m lonely when I’m in relationships. It’s my condition as an artist," She continues. "I’m drawn to bad romances. And my song (Bad Romance) is about whether I go after those (sorts of relationships) or if they find me. I’m quite celibate now; I don’t really get time to meet anyone."
Of course not, what with all the occasional recreational drug use and nonstop concert tours.
