Lady Gaga's meat bikini on Japanese Vogue makes PETA very angry

tbd-ladygagameatbikini090910.jpgFirst there were the rumors that male model Jo Calderone's photo spread in Vogue Hommes Japan was actually Lady Gaga in drag, but now she's appearing on the mag as herself, covered in a meat bikini. Shocking, truly. Leave it to PETA to take the bait.

"Oh, Lady Gaga's job is to do outlandish things, and this certainly qualifies as outlandish because meat is something you want to avoid putting on or in your body," PETA President Ingrid Newkirk told the New York Daily News about the magazine's September issue. Never mind that Gaga could stand to eat something -- anything -- these days, with rumors she's been starving herself. (Don't believe us? Compare this photo to her Poker Face video, when she actually had hips. Touring nonstop will do that to you.)

Then PETA issued its obligatory tsk-tsking statement: "No matter how beautifully it is presented, flesh from a tortured animal is flesh from a tortured animal. Meat represents bloody violence and suffering, so if that's the look they were going for — they achieved it."

Actually, they were probably looking for animal rights groups to give free publicity to both the singer and the mag, so as Dubya would say, mission accomplished.
