Lady Gaga's NSFW-ish video for 'Telephone' with Beyonce features partial nudity, bad language, product placement

The video for Lady Gaga's Telephone with Beyonce Knowles dropped like a ton of exhibitionist bricks this week, with the performer managing to cram in shout-outs to Virgin Mobile, Quentin Tarantino, Diet Coke, women's prison movies, Honey Buns and even all those haters who accused her of being a hermaphrodite, all in 9 1/2 minutes. Finally, the music video is an event again!

The video, which debuted Thursday on E! News, shows Gaga getting picked up from prison by BeBe, then follows the pair on a murder spree during a Thelma & Louise-style rampage in a rather unique vehicle from Kill Bill, which was reportedly his suggestion after hearing about the concept. Don't don't think it's just a strange, overproduced ode to pop culture featuring a showdown with Tyrese Gibson, oh no.

"The concept of the video is actually a follow-up of the video we did for Paparazzi," director Jonas Akerlund told E!. "At the end of Paparazzi she gets thrown into jail. ... The first part of this story is, she's in jail."

How artistic! But Gaga herself would like you to know that this is art, since she's "always trying to convolute everyone's idea of what a pop music video should be." So, like Michael Jackson's Thriller, except she's telling everyone we should be impressed with it instead of simply letting us watch.

Her idea, she said, was to take "the idea that America is full of young people that are inundated with information and technology and turn it into something that was more of a commentary on the kind of country that we are."

Wow, that sounds an awful lot like The Juice*. Maybe this should be our official music video.
