Lady Gaga's preserved meat dress joins Rock and Roll Hall of Fame
To catch you up on recent events, your next visit to Cleveland's Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is now featuring Lady Gaga's infamous meat dress from last September's MTV Video Music Awards. Sure, the exhibit opened May 13, but it took awhile to finish curing the frock. Please, no samples.
The dress this week joined an installation called Women Who Rock, and features women like Ma Rainey, Madonna, Patti Smith and Taylor Swift. The inclusion of the dress was delayed while it was finishing the conservation process, which involved being dipped in a mixture of detergent, bleach, distilled water and formaldehyde. Tasty.
"I was really delighted when I managed to get it from her," Rock Hall VP of exhibitions Jim Henke told the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. Well sure, why not? What's she gonna do with it, wear it again?
