Laurence Fishburne won't be back to 'CSI' next season
Law & Order: SVU isn't the only crime drama losing a big character (bye again, Chris Meloni): Laurence Fishburne will be leaving CSI to go back to making movies. His hangover from the Matrix sequels must have fully faded.
Fishburne, who replaced William Petersen on the show, has decided not to renew his contract after two and a half seasons, Deadline.com reports. His costar Marg Helgenberger will only be back part-time as well, just like Mariska Hargitay on SVU.
The show, meanwhile, whill be moving from Thursdays to Wednesday, and be an hour later at 10 p.m. Fishburne, who is going to be in Steven Soderbergh's upcoming Contagion, must have decided that was past his bedtime.
