Lauryn Hill pleads guilty for failure to file tax returns
Forget all about how the Affordable Care Act is going to affect the IRS, because they just wrung a guilty plea out of Lauryn Hill for failure to file tax returns. Now Wesley Snipes will have another celeb to talk things over with in the big house.
Hill admitted intentionally failing to file tax returns for 2005, 2006 and 2007, a stretch that saw her earning more than $1.8 million, TMZ reports. She was released on $150,000 bail, which she should have, since she apparently didn't pay any taxes for three years.
She now faces up to three years in prison and $75,000 in fines, and will be sentenced in November. That should give her plenty of time to make a run for it, turning her from former Fugee into current Fugee.
