Lawrence Kasdan, Simon Kinberg will write last two 'Star Wars' movies

Disney is wasting zero time pulling together its own Star Wars trilogy. That's why they've already locked up writers for Episode VIII and Episode IX, even before Michael Arndt's script for Episode VII is done. We don't know if that's good or bad.

Now hold on, geeks, because there is a big upside: Lawrence Kasdan, of The Empire Strikes Back, Return of the Jedi and Raiders of the Lost Ark fame, is one of the guys, the Hollywood Reporter says The other is Simon Kinberg, a producer for X-Men: First Class and co-writer of the upcoming X-Men: Days of Future Past.

There's no word on who will be writing what, or if they'll be writing together, but those are some credentials that bode much better than George Lucas writing anymore schlock about robot trade federations and little baby Jedi knights. Yes, we're that bitter.
