Leonardo DiCaprio was on plane when engine shut down
Leonardo DiCaprio was almost another airline disaster statistic over the weekend, since he was aboard a Sunday flight from New York to Moscow that had to return to JFK after one of its engines shut down without warning. That'll make you feel safe headed into Thanksgiving weekend.
The Delta jetliner had to return to the airport after the incident, although everyone was probably fairly safe. DiCaprio's rep told Us magazine the actor "wishes to commend the actions of the pilot and flight crew in bringing the plane to a safe landing." A source told the glossy that Leo was a cool customer through the whole thing, too; he even "signed autographs for all the crew members when they landed."
DiCaprio was going to the four-day Tiger Summit in St. Petersburg, Russia, to try to help prevent the extinction of tigers. Vladimir Putin was going to be there and everything, although Putin is likely to have killed one or two himself, probably by wrestling them to death.
