Let's ply musical wares
No doubt in an effort to pay his $48-million settlement to Heather Mills, ex-Beatle Paul McCartney was introduced Wednesday as the first artist signed to Starbucks Corp.’s new record label, the AP reports. The world’s largest specialty coffee retailer announced earlier this month that it was partnering with Concord Music Group to launch the Los Angeles-based Hear Music label. And Sir Elton John, wanting to get a piece of the digital pie, says he will make his back catalog of more than 30 albums available for download later this month. More than 400 tracks will be available on iTunes from March 26 through April 30 before being made available on other download services. What a present for John’s 60th birthday on March 29!
