Lil Wayne out of prison, heads to Miami to party
Rapper Lil Wayne managed to escape Rikers Island early Thursday, being released by the prison after serving eight months of a year-long sentence for gun possession, MTV reports. Of course, he was headed to Miami as soon as he got out.
Mack Maine, president of Weezy's Young Money label, said Wayne's pals "treat him like a king, like the royalty that he is, and make him feel like we really missed him and welcome him back to the family, basically." That means he's having a big ol' bash at a Miami strip club on Sunday, with Birdman, Jay Sean and his protogee, Drake, all in attendance, the Miami Herald says. Of course, Dwayne Carter may show up at a Drake tour stop in Las Vegas on Saturday, too.
"I would just advise you to book a ticket out there. If you can get tickets to that show on the 6th, I would strongly advise it," Drake told MTV. Well, Weezy's got some big expectations to live up to now. We can't show you any photos of his release, because depite the fact he managed to get thrown into solitary and still release a No. 1 single, but slipped out of the clink without anybody apparently witnessing that (jail officials simply confirmed his release by phone). He's like freakin' Batman.
