Lil Wayne shot nine music videos in one weekend
It sounds like Lil Wayne really did expect to go away to jail for a year this week: He and a production team shot nine music videos in one weekend, MTV reports. No wonder all videos are starting to look the same.
The network's Web site says Cash Money honchos Ronald and Brian Williams hired director David Rousseau to shoot footage for cuts from Tha Carter IV, Rebirth and the We Are Young Money compilation in and around Miami. Shooting ran from 9 a.m. Friday to 8 a.m. on Super Bowl Sunday.
"We knew what our deadline was," Rousseau said, noting Weezy's court date Tuesday, which was delayed until March 2 because of dental surgery. "We're trying to get maximum coverage for Wayne. Most of the time we only shot Wayne's verses — we'll finish the rest of the videos off in the next couple of weeks."
Rousseau said the rigorous filming lasted 16 to 18 hours a day, with Lil Wayne getting a short break every 30 minutes to change clothes. After all that, he probably would rather get some time in the cooler to relax.
