Lil Wayne's sentencing is postponed until Monday
First Lil Wayne asked to postpone his sentencing on a weapons charge in New York because he needed surgery on his grill last month. Then he was getting ready for his court date Tuesday, but there was a fire in the courthouse, so it got pushed back to Wednesday. Guess what happened then? Yep, pushed back again.
A spokesperson for the Office of Court Administration told MTV News that Weezy's case has been delayed a third time, rescheduled for Monday. The rapper formerly known as Dwayne Carter is expected to plead guilty to attempted gun possession after a .40-caliber pistol was found on his tour bus during a traffic stop in 2007. Yes, 2007.
Although the official sentence still hasn't been handed down, it's expected that Wayne will get a year, winnowed down to 8-10 months with good behavior. Considering how long it's taking for him to actually get tossed in the cooler, we'd be worried he'll be stuck in there for the better part of the decade.
