Lindsay Lohan was taken totally by surprise by her breakup with Samantha Ronson — this, the actress told Ellen DeGeneres this week.

“I had no idea what was going on,” Lohan said, according to E! News. “I just hadn’t seen her in like a week. She like, disappeared.”

DeGeneres, who broke up with Anne Heche in 2000, asked Ronson if she felt like running away from the world. “I feel like I want to get my career back in shape,” Lohan replied. She also added that she doesn’t understand why the paparazzi think she’s such a fascinating person.

 “I didn’t get into this business to be a celebrity on the cover of tabloids and I’ve been a target and I’m not that interesting,” she said. And yet, we write. Such is life.
