Lindsay Lohan charged with felony theft over necklace, pleads not guilty
Lindsay Lohan was formally charged with felony theft on Wednesday and remanded into custody on $40,000 bail briefly before she posted and was released, TMZ reports. That's right, L.A., she's still on the streets.
Judge Keith Schwartz set bond at $20,000 after Lohan pleaded not guilty, but also set another $20k after revoking her probation in her neverending DUI case. She was instructed not to contact the owners of Kamofie & Company, the Venice, Calif., jewelry store that reported stolen the $2,500 necklace LiLo reportedly took.
"You need to follow the laws just like everyone else. You're no different than anyone else so please don't push your luck because things will be different." Schwartz told Lohan, E! says. He added that since a felony charge is involved, she could get in real trouble. "In the interim, while this case is percolating until a resolution is reached, if you violate the law, I will remand you and set no bail."
The next hearing will be Feb. 23, so we'll try very hard to not follow up on this at all.
