Lindsay Lohan hires Robert Shapiro, checks into sober living facility before deadline
We gave you a little break from Lindsay Lohan, but she's back, and this time she's got a new lawyer: Robert Shapiro. And he's puttin' her in sober living! About time someone talked some sense around here.
Ahead of her deadline to surrender for jail on Tuesday, LiLo has hired the O.J. Simpson defender. TMZ says Shaprio will be asking Judge Marsha Revel to put Lindsay in rehab instead of jail (they deny that), although we like the current plan of making her go after her jail sentence has been served, for job security if nothing else.
Conveniently, Shapiro founded an organization for people with drug and alcohol problems, the Brent Shapiro Foundation, named after the son who died in 2005 from an ecstasy overdose. That explains why Lohan surreptitiously checked into a sober living facility on Wednesday afternoon.
RadarOnline caught footage of Samantha Ronson and mom Dina and Ali stopping by Pickford Lofts in West Hollywood in the late evening, long after The Juice* went to bed early because The Daily Show and The Colbert Report are on vacation. Even LiLo's Israeli pal Eilat Anschel visited around 1 a.m. Left Coast time Thursday.
Whether or not this is to try to convince Revel to keep Lindsay out of jail, this is the first sane thing that's happened since the sentencing. We joke a lot, but Lohan obviously needs help, so with any luck Shapiro can knock some sense into her (and keep Dina and Michael away).
