Lindsay Lohan may get early release from rehab
Wednesday's the big day for Lindsay Lohan, as a Beverly Hills judge will be reviewing her case to see if she should be released from court-ordered drug rehab earlier than originally planned. Hey, we all know LiLo doesn't really have a drug problem, right?
L.A. County Superior Court Judge Elden Fox has scheduled an 8:30 a.m. hearing, the L.A. Times writes. Sources say Lohan could be released from her 90-day rehab sentence to outpatient treatment as early as this week. She's been at UCLA medical Center since Aug. 2, when she was released from jail after serving 13 days of her 90-day jail sentence.
Judge Marsha Revel, who has recused herself from the case after the district attorney said she improperly discussed the case with the defense and another rehab center, had meted out the punishment for LiLo's violation of probation on a 2007 DUI conviction.
This is all so much ridiculous nattering, but the two lessons that are useful are A) we all get to see the preferential treatment celebs get, especially in L.A., and B) we all get a civics lesson in how broken the criminal justice system is as a whole. If this was you, you'd still be rotting in the L.A. County lockup, whether you were addicted to Adderall or not.
