Lisa Whelchel scores a role in Tyler Perry's next movie
Prepare to see Blair for the first time in almost 25 years, because Lisa Whelchel from The Facts of Life is returning to the industry by winning a part in Tyler Perry's latest movie, Tyler Perry's A Madea Christmas. Coming in second on Survivor: Philippines wasn't so bad, after all.
"I play the role of Nancy Porter, the country school principal. I'm having fun!" the 49-year-old tells People, noting she won the role three hours after her audition, her first for a role in 33 years. "Tyler Perry is such a brilliant man. He's a nice guy, and so funny when he gets in his Madea garb."
Lisa has been keeping busy guest hosting Jeff Probst's talk show, and won $100,000 as the fan favorite on her survivor stint. And with Nancy McKeon making a steady stream of TV movies, Mindy Cohn devoted to voicing Velma in a bunch of Scooby-Doo cartoons and Kim Fields rebounding after Living Single, it's good to see all the girls really have grown up.
