Organizers for the Grammys have decided they've had enough being useless and ignored as an awards show, so they've decided to hire the first show host in seven years. And luckily, they picked 44-year-old rapper LL Cool J to do the honors. Because like J, no one has really cared about the Grammys since the mid '90s.

"I'm thrilled to be part of Music's Biggest Night," he said in a statement to People. "I will always have fond memories of my first Grammy Awards and to now be hosting the Grammy show, in the company of so many other incredible artists, is a dream come true."

It's really not fair to pick on LL, who was a favorite in the Juice*mobile during our Juice* High School days. It's not his fault there hasn't been a host since Queen Latifah in 2005. But it is his fault he's done the nominations concert every year since 2008, making it look like he'd be the only one interested in hosting the Feb. 12 show. Plus, it's on CBS, guaranteeing no one younger than 50 will be watching. Not even his boomin' system will be able to help.
