Louis C.K. postpones fourth season of 'Louie' to 2014
Settle in for a bit, because comedian Louis C.K. has asked FX to grant him an extended hiatus between his just-finished third season of Louie and the next. That's right, your manic depression and jaded chuckling will have to wait all the way until spring 2014. But really, it's all for the best.
"I want season four to go somewhere new … I'm looking back to when I did the first season and the time I took to do the show and decide which directions to go in and I want that back again," Louis C.K. told the Hollywood Reporter of the change from summer 2013 to the following year. "I want a little breathing room." Networks execs were willing to grant the delay, given how many awards the show gets nominated for (he won an Emmy for comedy writing this year) and how much work Louis does.
"Louie has continued to raise the bar and recharge his batteries. I don't think there's anyone else in business who's produced, starred, directed and edited all but seven episodes … I'm not surprised he needs a bit of a break," FX president John Landgraf said. That break will consist of the comedian continuing his current 22-city tour -- including a Nov. 29 double show at the Straz. Buy tickets strictly through his website here, because Louis C.K. hates broker fees as much as you do.
