Lynda Carter says she likes Adrianne Palicki's new 'Wonder Woman' costume
While most of you probably have already seen the new promo photo of Adrianne Palicki in her brand-spankin'-new Wonder Woman costume (left) and not liked it, everybody's been wondering what '70s version Lynda Carter would think of it, since she pretty much jumpstarted puberty for every young man born prior to 1965. Well guess what, Palicki haters? Lynda likes it.
"What's not to like," Carter tells the Hollywood Reporter. "Adrianne looks gorgeous and I'm really looking forward to seeing David E. Kelley's new series." Plenty of people have been unhappy with the new style for the NBC show, which echoes the makeover Diana Prince got from artist Jim Lee last year (right). That change was met with a similar outcry, with a story by Fox News pointing out that the wardrobe change was "purging the super hero of all her trappings of Americana." Well, D.C. Comics did admit they were trying to give her a broader global appeal, especially with a TV show and 2013 movie on the way.
THR points out the show will feature cameos by Cary Elwes and Elizabeth Hurley, but what about Lynda? "I talked to David about doing something in the pilot but with my new CD, Crazy Little Things coming out in April and touring for the album, we couldn't coordinate our schedules but you never know what will happen in the future," she said. Well, now we know why she said she likes it -- it just wouldn't do to burn those bridges.
