Madonna has pooh-poohed a tabloid rumor that her visit to Malawi this weekend is for child-shopping, AFP reports.

"Madonna is going to Africa to continue her work with the Raising Malawi organization," the star's spokeswoman Liz Rosenberg said. "She is overseeing the building of a children's healthcare center. She is absolutely not adopting another baby."

Awwww ... we were hoping to stretch another three or four weeks' worth of stuff out of that.
