Madonna nude photo auctioned for $37,500
A rather graphic photo of a nude (and how shall we say, hirsute?) Madonna from 1979 brought $37,500 at a Thursday auction in NYC, an apparent record price for a pic of the ubiquitous Material Mom. And no, we can't show you the image here.
The AP says an unnamed European buyer bought the Lee Friedlander photo, which Christie's had expected to go for $15,000 or so. It's safe to say that buyer likely is not Guy Ritchie.
The photo was part of a collection of six that appeared in Playboy in 1985. Madonna may have been paid about $25 for the shoot, but she probably doesn't even remember what $25 looks like these days. Another pic of Madge by Helmut Newton fetched $18,750, but she was wearing lingerie and poses with a man, so who cares?
