Madonna signs three-album deal with Interscope Records
Just when you thought Madonna may finally be out of the recording game, she's just signed a new deal with Interscope and Live Nation that will bring not one, not two, but THREE new albums. At this rate, she'll be the noisiest resident at Shady Acres Retirement Home.
The New York Post says Madge worked out a so-called "360 deal" with Live Nation that will let her tour with a cut of merchandising, then will get about $1 million per album. The agreement comes after Madonna's falling out with Warner Music Group after her contract with them ended in 2007 following the release of Celebrations, her third greatest hits album.
"It's just about keeping relevance so that she can tour. She is still in the demo phase, but the idea is to get the first album out early next year," a source told the Post. Let's hope they end up being more Like a Prayer and less American Life.
