Madonna's camp retracts settlement statement
Remember how Madonna's rep Liz Rosenberg just told the whole world that the singer's ex-husband Guy Ritchie was getting a settlement for up to $92 million? Well forget all that, because it was apparently "misleading and inaccurate," Madge's people say.
According to the Daily Mail, after saying Ritchie was getting "one of the largest payouts ever in a divorce settlement," Rosenberg was countered by a joint statement from Guy's people countering the claims. They're obviously trying to counteract Madonna's reported anger over reports Ritchie only wanted access to his kids and wasn't interested in money.
"We have tried to maintain a dignified silence regarding the details of our divorce for the last few months whilst accepting the obvious media interest. A misleading and inaccurate statement, specifically in relation to the sums of money involved, was wrongly issued to AP this week," the statement read. "The financial details of the settlement will remain private, save to say that both of us are happy with our agreement. Our primary concern, like any co-parents, is the care and well being of our children."
Take that, you vengeful banshee! Maybe your Monday press release shouldn't have focused on the higher number, when all Guy really got (reportedly), was one of your five houses, a pub and money to relocate. But hell hath no fury ...
