Madonna's 'MDNA' will have biggest sales dropoff ever
Need proof Madonna should officially start looking for a home in Sun City? Her latest album, MDNA has the dubious honor of claiming the record for biggest second-week sales drop in history. And she didn't even really sell most of those.
Forbes reported the album, which moved 359,000 units in its first week of release, recorded only 46,000 in sales its second week, a decline of 88 percent. That's partially because the first week included "sales" of the album she recorded by giving them away with concert tickets. IF you stop and think about it, that makes sense after all, because her devoted concertgoers are the only people who'd pay for it.
Forbes points out Lionel Ritchie's strange but listenable country mashup Tuskegee sold 110,000 copies, so Madge should apologize for keeping him out of the No. 1 spot, where he belonged. His sales only dropped 47 percent, after all. She was too busy pretending to be half her age, though, so don't expect her to notice.
