Martin Sheen, Sally Field may be in new 'Spider-Man'

The Spider-Man reboot is for real, with word from the Hollywood Reporter that heavyweights Martin Sheen and Sally Field are in talks to play Uncle Ben and Aunt May. Sadly, we all know it'd only be a temporary role for Sheen.

Sheen and Field would join Andrew Garfield as Peter Parker in Marc Webb's upcoming version of the webslinger. Shooting begins in December, with Emma Stone as Gwen Stacy and Rhys Ifans as the villain, although which villain he's playing is still up in the air.

It's always dangerous to get big stars to play fairly minor roles. The last thing Garfield probably wants is Marty upstaging him by reenacting the opening of Apocalypse Now when Peter skips the library to go wrestling. Of course, Sheen was in Spawn, so he can be fairly hambone about things, too.
