Matt Damon, Ben Affleck making another movie together
How do you like these apples? Matt Damon and Ben Affleck are finally making their first movie together since 1999's Dogma. You thought we were going to say Good Will Hunting, didn't you? But in the years since, Damon has become one of the most bankable actors in Hollywood, and Affleck has turned into a pretty good director, so why not reunite?
Their planned project: A biopic of notorious Boston crime boss Whitey Bulger, who was one of the most wanted men in America until he was captured this summer. E! News reports Damon will star as Bulger, and Affleck will costar and direct.
"Matt and I have been looking for something to do together for some time," Affleck told Deadline.com. "We've heard about Whitey Bulger since we were kids, and we are excited by the prospect of putting it on screen."
Deadline said the film will focus on Bulger’s youth, stint in Alcatraz and rise through the crime world. Bulger was on the lam for 16 years; by the time this film comes out, it'll have been about that long since 1997's Good Will Hunting.
