Matthew Vaughn may want to direct Star Wars: Episode 7
After having let the real news part of tbt* handle word that there will be a new Star Wars movie after Disney bought Lucasfilm, The Juice* can run with this ball now that all we have is unconfirmed rumor on which to speculate. First up: There's word that Kick-Ass and X-Men: First Class director Matthew Vaughn may end up helming Episode 7.
Collider.com says Vaughn is in discussions with Lucasfilm about working on the project, due in 2015, now that he's left the latest X-Men sequel. Bryan Singer, who worked on the first two X-Men movies way back when, has stepped into that role. So, this may be the best thing for both Star Wars and Marvel geeks.
Collider points out that Vaughn is a screenwriter too, which we think bodes well for any Star Wars project. After Goerge Lucas apparently churned out the three scripts for the prequels during bouts of somnambulism, this next round couldn't get any worse. Even Cornelius, the hepres-riddled mystery monkey of Tampa Bay could have done better than those stories.
