Mel Gibson may have threatened to kill Oksana Grigorieva; ex-girlfriend shares similar story

There's just too much going on with Mel Gibson these days. Let's see, we have more snippets from Oksana Grigorieva's audio tape, confirmation from another girlfriend he had a nasty temper and word that his case is going to the DA. How's that for a weekend wrapup?

First up, a source tells RadarOnline that Mel threatened Oksana's life, plain as day, and it's all caught on tape: "When things in their relationship started going badly and he made the first threats against her, Oksana decided she needed to protect herself," the source said of the defunct couple's court battle. "She made the recordings and on one of them, Mel is heard telling Oksana, 'I will bury you in the rose garden,' which she believed to be a clear reference to killing her."

Pretty sensational, but is an outburst made all the more plausible by In Touch Weekly's story that former girlfriend Violet Kowal, with whom he ran around back in 2007, was intimidated by the 54-year-old actor.

"His threats scared me so badly," she says. "I left town and went into hiding for almost a month."Kowal adds that she didn't hook up with Gibson until 2009, after he'd left wife Robyn but was with baby mama Oksana.

"I agreed to go visit him at his Malibu compound," she says, detailing their first sexual encounter. "He didn’t want to use protection, but I insisted. He seemed paranoid and anxious. He chain-smoked before and after we had sex. It was weird." Things didn't improve with time, either: "He would get very aggressive and angry if I was not available, even yelling and demanding to come to my home when I refused to see him."

With all this going on, it's easy to see why the L.A. County Sheriff's Department is sending Oksana's complaints of domestic violence, child endangerment and assault with a deadly weapon to prosecutors later this month, probably in two weeks, if TMZ is to be belived. And sadly, they usually are.
