Melissa Rycroft, Jennie Garth get new CMT reality shows
In a whirlwind bout of "where are they now" reality show creation, CMT has given new shows to both Bachelor alum Melissa Rycroft and Beverly Hills 90120 actress Jennie Garth, Deadline.com says. Wow, Justine Bateman must not have been available to do anything.
Melissa and Tye: A New Reality stars Rycroft as she moves to Hollywood to follow her dreams (again), leaving behind her husband Tye Strickland, whom she married in 2009. As if that didn't already sound like recipe enough for a TV disaster, the couple also have a 10-month-old daughter.
Garth, meanwhile, will be doing the opposite, moving out to the sticks with her family to try to get away from (snicker) fame in I Love Jennie. That's why she's allowing a camera crew to record her every move, see, because she's sick of Hollywood.
It should be noted that Ryan Seacrest is the one behind Rycroft's show, which should be no surprise, since he's the one who brought us the Kardashians. Expect to see at least eight episodes of each, as has been ordered by the network; there's always the chance audiences will come to their senses and not watch either, though. And those are the days we live for.
