ABC decided that Michael Bolton's Captain Jack Sparrow video on Saturday Night Live was so hilarious, he deserves his own sitcom. That's right, that Michael Bolton. For our money, it just doesn't get any better than a sitcom starring Michael Bolton.

You can blame Go On's Allison Miller, who inspired the idea by her true-life encounters with celebrities (although she hadn't met Botlon at the time), Deadline.com reports. 30 Rock's Tami Sagher will write the show, Michael Bolton's Daughter Is Destroying My Life, about a young writer who takes a job in the city working the social media angle for Bolton. Hilarity ensues when Bolton takes a daughter back into his home, apparently causing problems for said writer.

Miller isn't contracted to star in the show, which ABC has greenlighted for development, but that doesn't mean she couldn't at some point. Bolton will be an executive producer as well as a star. They'll probably be limited to three Jack Sparrow references per show, tops.
