Michael Douglas is looking better these days, doc says
It's time for a Michael Douglas cancer update, and it sounds like he got good news for his 10th anniversary with Catherine Zeta-Jones on Thursday: He is apparently responding well to his treatment for throat cancer. That's good, because after Patrick Swayze, we can't take any more untimely cancer deaths.
"He doesn’t seem as frail," cancer specialist Dr. Kent Holtorf told Star, noting Douglas is probably in the recovery stage and looks to have gained about 10 pounds. "The extra pounds have smoothed out some of the wrinkles, so he is looking younger and healthier." Of course, he doesn't actually treat Douglas, but he's seen him, and we'll take any good news we can get.
The 66-year-old was diagnosed with stage-four throat cancer in August and began an eight-week program of radiation and chemotherapy. Maybe he'll be well enough to soon start that promotional tour for Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps. Wait, that's over already?
