Michael Douglas will play Liberace in biopic
Get ready for more big-screen glitter than you possibly can stand, because director Steven Soderbergh has convinced Michael Douglas to play flamboyant pianist Liberace in an upcoming biopic. We're guessing it'll be the big L in his later years.
"We've already done some costume and wardrobe tests on Michael, and they're very, very, very good." People says Soderbergh told a French newspaper. "I swear to you, Michael amazed me. He crushed it."
What's more, Soderbergh says Matt Damon has agreed to play Scott Thorsen, Liberace's assistant and boyfriend. You know the, one who outed the performer by filing a $110 million palimony suit in 1982.
"Matt accepted the challenge," Soderbergh said. "But I have to say I'd already convinced him to gain 30 pounds for The Informant."
We don't even want to think of the things Steven may ask him to do for this one.
