Michelle Williams denies Destiny's Child reunion at Super Bowl
So, we're all ready for the Destiny's Child reunion at the Super Bowl, right? Well, everyone but Michelle Williams, who is still claiming that poorly kept secret a secret by saying she's busy this weekend. You don't have to lie, Michelle. We have proof you don't have anywhere else to be that day.
In an interview with Internet radio station WRUG Media Group, Williams eyes grew wide when her interviewer mentioned she'd be in New Orleans on Sunday, prompting her to feign ignorance of the entire scenario: "That's not confirmed. It is rumoured. I'm gonna be in the musical Fela!. I hate to disappoint the people and tell them that it's not true," she said in acting so bad, it could win a SAG Award. (Watch the video above.)
Well, except for the fact that the Shakespeare Theare Company in D.C. has a giant red note on the ticket page reading, "PLEASE NOTE: Michelle Williams will not be appearing January 31st – 3rd." Apparently producers Jay-Z, Will Smith and Jada Pinkett figured the understudy could get a chance.
More easily convinced was MediaTakeOut.com, which quoted an anonymous source as saying Beyonce had a change of heart. "We all expected Destiny's Child's new single Nuclear to take off, and that (they would) perform it at the Superbowl. But it didn't and so (Beyonce's team) is regrouping," the source said in an attempt to throw people off the scent. "Kelly (Rowland) and Michelle will not be a part of (Beyonce's) show."
This is probably the same source who swore up and down Beyonce didn't lip synch at President Obama's inauguration. This is the Internet Age, y'all; There's no such thing as a secret anymore.
