Minka Kelly, Annie Ilonzeh and Rachel Taylor picked for 'Charlie's Angels' reboot
The three new ladies of ABC's reboot of Charlie's Angels have been cast: General Hospital's Annie Ilonzeh, Friday Night Lights' Minka Kelly and future Grey's Anatomy obstetrician Rachael Taylor. These choices are apparently Drew Barrymore approved, too.
Sony Pictures TV and Barrymore's Flower Films conducted a serach to fill the roles for the upcoming Miami-set series, TVline.com says. Kelly's Marisa, a former Marine, was apparently reworked to fit Derek Jeter's girfriend better. Taylor's Abby is a con artist that's a Krav Maga expert, just like Jason Bourne. And Ilonzeh's Kate is an ex-cop and martial arts master, in case Krav Maga was too specific for you.
Smallville's Alfred Gough and Miles Millar wrote the script for the pilot, so there's always a chance this one could live for a spell. This ain't 1976 anymore -- daredevil female detective/assassins aren't as novel as they used to be.
