Miss California Carrie Prejean can keep title

Tbd-carrieprejean051309 Leave it to Donald Trump to find a way to make the controversy surrounding Miss California Carrie Prejean about him. He was sure to be front and center when he announced at New York's Trump Tower on Tuesday that she could keep her crown despite a recent spate of topless photos.

"We are in the 21st century. We have determined the pictures taken are fine," he said, adding that "in some cases the pictures were lovely." We're guessing they didn't even discuss Prejean's aformentioned breast augmentation, which was paid for by the pageant.

Trump said he and other pageant officials had looked over the photos (we'll bet they did) and decided they were acceptable, the AP reports. Did they also see the new ones that TMZ just posted Tuesday? But Trump was sure to also defend Prejean's stance on gay marriage, which started all this mess.

"It's the same answer the president of the United States gave; it's the same answer many people gave," Trump said. "She gave an honorable answer; she gave an answer from her heart." Watch the video below.

We don't care about the gay marriage stuff, since that's up there with abortion and the death penalty on the list of Topics We're Not Going To Ask You About, but it's great to see the pageant uphold their claims of promoting women who act "in accordance with the highest ethical and moral standards."
