Morgan Freeman's 'friend' talks about crash
Demaris Meyer, the woman who was riding in Morgan Freeman's car when he crashed in Missippi last year, says the actor had been drinking a lot of booze, TMZ reports. And no, sorry, she's not his mistress, as much as we wanted her to be.
Meyer said at a press conference Wednesday that when she met him that night she couldn't help but notice "throughout the course of dinner and afterward drinks were consumed by Freeman." She then left and met up with him at a friends home, where he "had at least one more drink." So of course, why wouldn't you get in a car with an obviously drunken man?
She goes on to say that after being offered a place to stay at his home, she rode with him when he lost control of the car and crashed around 11:30 p.m. Meyer says she sustained a broken wrist and scapula, a torn labrum and a bunch of cuts and bruises.
She's suing for medical expenses, pain and suffering, lost wages, permanent disability for short-term memory loss and damages. So much for being "just friends."
