Naomi Judd admits she 'was horrible' as Ashley's mom
Naomi Judd has finally spoken out about her daughter Ashley's tell-all memoir All That is Bitter & Sweet, in which Ashley said mom was a drug-abusing absentee parent for much of her childhood. And what Naomi said was, she hasn't read it yet.
"I will probably get around to reading it, because as a mom, I certainly want to honor her reality," the 65-year-old tells Us. She does admit not everything was peachy, though. "I was horrible. I didn't know any better." Ashley's sister, Wynonna says reading the book, which says the 46-year-old and Naomi were focusing on their musical career together while ignoring Ashley's plight, put Wynonna in "an unbearable place between two women that I really love."
What's going to be unbearable is the media blitz we're going to be subjected to now, since this book came out at the same time Wynonna and Naomi are filming their own reality show on the Oprah Winfrey Network. Some people say the Judds are mad at Ashley, but we know better. This is just clever cross-marketing, if we've ever seen it.
