Natalie Morales may or may not want Ann Curry's job, too
The wild speculation train has done left the station concerning the shakeup at NBC's Today show, with rumors running rampant that half the network will be switching jobs. Thanks a lot, Ann Curry, we'll be blaming you for that, too.
The New York Post says while Savannah Guthrie may step into Curry's seat, Natalie Morales could be leaving with Ann. Why? Because she wants to sit next to Matt Lauer, that's why.
"If Natalie's passed over for the job, she's going to leave next," a source told the paper, noting she missed the big step up when Meredith Vieira left in 2006. "This will be the second time (Natalie) has been passed over for the top job. And she’s not happy." That sounds like a planted quote if we've ever read one.
An NBC Universal flak said that's not the case, and Natalie is quite happy to continue cohosting the 9 a.m. hour without Guthrie, because at least she has Al Roker. We suspect some eyerolling was involved in that discussion, as well. If nothing else, this is sure increasing readership among people who read about the Today show instead of watching it.
