Natalie Portman is the most bankable star in Hollywood
In the most important (to Hollywood executives) of all of Forbes' year-end celebrity lists, Natalie Portman has been crowned Tinseltown's most bankable actor. You know how this one goes: For every dollar the studios pay Portman, she brings in a whopping $42.70. Can we invest our meager 401(k) in her? It's not like we have a pension.
Forbes estimated the figure using earnings from Black Swan, No Strings Attached and even that flop Your Highness. Thor didn't count because she was only a supporting actress (if you can call fawning over Chris Hemsworth acting). And that's during a year she took time off to be with son Aleph.
Next on the list was Twilight's Kristen Stewart, who averaged $40.60 for every dollar she was paid, even with Breaking Dawn, Part 2 still in theaters. Shia LaBeouf manages third with $35.80, although he's said he's swearing off blockbusters, even after topping the list in 2009 and 2010; Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull was that bad. Stewart's Twilight costar Robert Pattinson was fourth with $31.70, and erstwhile Harry Potter Daniel Radcliffe was fifth with $30.50.
Rounding out the top 10 is Taylor Lautner ($29.50); Bradley Cooper ($25); Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson ($22.70); Amy Adams ($22.60); and if you can believe it, Kevin James ($22.40). It seems starring in awful movies and getting paid relatively little is a big key to this formula. Who knew?
