NBC rejects Adrianne Palicki's new 'Wonder Woman'
If you thought the planned resurrection of Wonder Woman sounded like a bad idea, you're not the only one. NBC has reportedly passed on the pilot, too, because it looked simply awful. Who'da thunk, you know?
The David E. Kelley pilot starring Friday Night Lights star Adrianne Palicki got mixed reviews from test audiences, Entertainment Weekly reports, which is industry shorthand for thinking it sucked out loud. The storyline casting Diana Prince as the CEO of a major corporation and playing up the Greek mythology of it all while downplaying Wonder Woman's patriot roots was just not enough to spark people's interest, it seems. Tehy even fiddled with the outfit after people hated the new one, but no dice.
In the end, this will probably be a good thing for Palicki. The only thing worse than having your new show killed in the pilot stage is to have a new show come out and be god-awful, forever branding you as "that girl who did that terrible Wonder Woman remake."
