NBC's 'The Event' may live on as SyFy miniseries
If you're one of the 3 million or so people who were still watching NBC's The Event when it ended its run by having the aliens teleport their entire planet into earth orbit (whoops, spoiler alert), you're porbably a little unhappy it was canceled. But good news: SyFy may be picking up the show for a miniseries run to tie up loose ends. Like whether Sarah Roemer and Jason Ritter will be having a really cute half-human hipster baby or not.
Creator Nick Wauters and executive producer Steve Stark announced after the May 13 cancellation that the show may live on, and now Deadline.com says it's entirely possible. Apparently financing the show would be a sticking point to moving the series to cable, the site says, but really, all you have to do is recycle some old Battlestar Galactica special effects, throw in some stock explosions and voila! Instant alien invasion.
While SyFy is at it, maybe they can tell us what happened on ABC's V after Anna and the lizards apparently took over the Earth, leaving a Elizabeth Mitchell and Marc Singer to figure out what to do next. On second though, no, we hated all the characters so much, it's okay to leave it like that.
