New 'Top Model' contestant is transgendered
Since America's Next Top Model is a Juice* favorite, we're happy to hear a new season hits the airwaves Sept. 3, but Miss J. Alexander's frequent admonitions that some contestants look too "tranny" have taken a new twist. Isis, a 22-year-old from Prince George's County, Md., is actually transgender.
"My cards are dealt differently," Isis told Us in an exclusive sure to ruin the big surprise of the two-hour CW premiere. She calls herself "a woman born physically male."
But the receptionist tells the magazine she's not necessarily there to be a role model.
"I like to help people, but I'm here to follow my dreams," she told the mag. We're wondering how the other 13 girls will react to this news -- they always have some nitwit who is a bigot to keep the show interesting.
Meanwhile, if you want to be on the next season of Tyra Bank's festival of humility, casting will be at the Westin on Harbour Island on Aug. 30 from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Check out Eric Deggans' blog The Feed for more details.
