Now a Marine is asking Betty White to a ball
The Interwebs is featuring yet another video asking a celebrity to attend a Marine Corps ball (and let's note here that there is more than one ball, of course), and this time the lucky lady is ... Betty White. Hey, you know she'd be up for some shenanigans.
In a video posted on YouTube back on Friday, Marine Sgt. Ray Lewis -- "like the football player" -- is shown doing calisthenics before changing into his dress blues and asking Betty to a ball, a la Mila Kunis and Justin Timberlake. "I would like to take Betty White. She's funny, she's sweet, she's mature. She's the all-around the perfect woman," Lewis says about the 89-year-old. "I really think we'd have a good time. I'm fun, you know. … I think I can make her laugh. I think she can make me laugh. I think we can laugh together. … So, call me!"
We're still waiting on whether she accepts the invitation, but we wouldn't take this one too seriously. Lewis is a rapper as well as a Marine, so the less charitable YouTube commenters wonder whether this is just a marketing stunt for his music career. The video did start with his "RSonicVision" logo, after all, and it's tough to find out what unit Lewis is in, or even which ball he's talking about, since every single post about this online is based on this one video. Don't be surprised if it turns out to be a hoax (we've already asked for what unit he's with and where he's station via his Twitter account, @rsonictweet -- but all he replied with was "Texas").
Meanwhile, Marines, we love you, but please stop the celebrity dating thing. Once was fun, twice was routine, three times is tiresome. Show us your globe and anchor at the bar next time and The Juice* will buy you a beer, but save the reality show fodder for E!.
