O.J. Simpson is a suspect in break-in

O.J. Simpson has been named as a suspect in a break-in at a second-rate Vegas casino hotel room, the AP says.

Police confirmed that an incident involving sports collectibles occurred Thursday night at the Palace Station, which is off the Strip, and most vacationers' radar.

“When they talked to him, Simpson made the comment that he believed the memorabilia was his,” police spokesman Jose Montoya said. “We’re getting conflicting stories from the two sides.”

Would this have anything to do with Simpson having to auction off his Heisman Trophy to pay off his $33.5-million debt to the family of Ron Goldman?

For his part, Simpson said he went to the room for “a sting operation” to get back what was his, but that he did not break into the room. The D.A. still has to determine whether they will press charges against O.J.
