Oksana Grigorieva drops domestic violence claim against Mel Gibson
In a turnaround worthy of a primetime court drama, Oksana Grigorieva has announced she's dropping her domestic violence claim against Mel Gibson. That sounds like a pretty expensive backroom deal for his production company, if you know what we're saying.
Grigorieva's lawyer told Judge Scott Gordon in L.A. today that they are no longer using the allegation as a claim to change the custody order for their daughter, Lucia, TMZ reports. Sources tell the site the move is an attempt to get Gibson to settle the custody order on his own with the Russian musician. She really seems to have gotten over those two front teeth she claims Mel broke by punching her in the face (he says he slapped her to calm her down, movie-style).
The protective order preventing Mel from contacting or harassing her has been terminated, the site says, because Oksana wants to be able to communicate with him directly instead of using third parties. There was no indication of whether there was still a civil suit pending against Gibson, which may have a lot to do with whether he's willing to go along with that plan.
