Oprah Winfrey shows off her natural hair on 'O' cover
Just in time for all the haters busting Olympic gymnast Gabby Douglas' chops for wearing her hair back with gel for her gold medal-winning performance in London (drink some of the Twitter haterade here), Oprah Winfrey is gracing the cover of her magazine O with a makeover featuring her natural hair. And Oprah didn't even have to have the highest average score in all four events to do it!
"I wanted to wear it close-cropped, à la Camille Cosby, but her husband Bill convinced me otherwise," Winfrey says in the magazine's September makeover issue. "'Don't do it,' he said. 'You've got the wrong head shape and you'll disappoint yourself.' I took his advice." She notes she lets her curls loose on the weekends and vacations, although we don't often see photos of that.
It's only a matter of time before O and Halle Berry, who recently has gone natural too, get on the soapbox about all the people upset that a 16-year-old gymnast doesn't have the time or inclination to clean up her kitchen before beating Russia by more than five points. We're pretty sure Bill Cosby has something to say about it, too.
